People get hurt, that's life. If an opinion is wrong then you change it and move on.
Apologies are empty words. Nothing about them changes anything.

An apology can change a lot if it's sincere and, believe it or not, people can be genuine

They ARE meaningless. Only emotions and actions matter.
One can be sincerely apologetic and still continue to commit the same offenses. Sincerity is not a guarantee of change.
