The two are not intrinsic, you can have power over yourself without needing power over others. Certainly you need self control when governing but that has never stopped anyone in the past.

Peace is momentary, but it is not a lie. Everything in life is momentary. Passion is intrinsic to life, it governs all of us but it's not only a strength it's a weakness. Passion can kriff everything up, it can blind you and weaken you to the right thing to do.
And the right thing isn't what you want, it's what's best for everyone whether you like it or not. Power is the lie, power is pointless if you can't control it.
Peace is stagnation. Conflict, within or outside yourself is what drives you to grow. Passion is truth. It's from passion we get our desire to do what is right. Or what is necessary. Without it, you are soulless. Power is everything. Power over your emotions, power over yourself, power over the Force. There is no true power without control.
Conflict is hell, it ruins people and takes lives and yes it changes you but more often than not for the worse. It is not and should not be the means of growth.
And passion is not truth. It can be motivating and truthful but it is not THE truth. An over abundance of passion can be harmful and it's no excuse for behaviour. Crimes of passion are not honest, they're lapses in judgement and breaks in control but they are not honest.
Power over self is a constant battle and power over others is an illusion. It does not exist.
You are SO literal. Conflict isn't just fighting. Wanting to be better than you are now. Protecting the ones you care about. It's not settling for things as they are.
